For many organisations diversity planning has become a business necessity in response to rapidly growing global markets, and to customers who increasingly make purchasing and employment decisions based on an organisation's values and philosophy. Employees may need to be educated to appreciate cultural differences and should be provided with guidance concerning effective ways in which to create an inclusive organisational culture. They also need an understanding of the impact of diversity management upon an organisation's future. Workplace diversity no longer only concerns compliance with anti-discrimination regulations; it also focuses upon inclusion and its impact on business profitability.
